Details: Guildford Grammar School is delighted to continue its long tradition of hosting the IPSHA Chess Tournament, welcoming students from across the IPSHA network for a day of strategy, challenge, and friendly competition.
Selected students in Years 3–6 have been invited to represent the Preparatory School in the annual IPSHA Chess Competition. This incursion provides students with the opportunity to compete against visiting IPSHA schools in a supportive and competitive environment. Throughout the day, students will participate in a series of chess matches designed to further develop their strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, concentration, and sportsmanship. The competition encourages respectful play and collaboration while allowing students to apply and extend their chess skills in a real-world tournament setting. Students are required to wear their formal school uniform, bring their own morning tea, lunch, hat, and water bottle. If you have placed a Prep Café lunch order for this day, please notify us so that arrangements can be coordinated accordingly. This incursion is a valuable opportunity for students to challenge themselves, represent the school, and engage with peers from other IPSHA schools in a positive and enriching academic competition.
